Deep orange above the horizon,
Striated through with brown.
Azure melting into navy
As the sun recedes.
Lights flicker at points
Across the vista.
Grouse or quail craik in
The undergrowth.
Dark,sharp, shapes stark
Against the dying sky.
Sun flames linger in a
Gloria of cloud.
