Child asleep by water

Child, snub nosed,
hands lightly clenched,
asleep in the grass,
by slow moving water.
Patchwork between her
and the earth.

Hair like damp, soft, feathers.
Perfect half-moon cuticles.
A finger ready to rise,
summon her slaves
when she wakes.
Fleshy creases of shoulder
and elbow,
Long eyelash fronds delicately
rest.

She dreams of.......what?
Harmony,abundance,bliss.
